You may be right, but it depends on your personal views.

To me, Western music changes its trend very fast, although still maintaining their previous instruments (Classical music-->Violin, piano, cello etc...), but their economy and politics growth was fast and new ways of expressing music changed too according to the people there.....last time we have classical music...then classical rock...smooth rock...new age music...then Black Metal, hip hop, R&B, rapping etc...Although many types of music was created but the way of listening music was never different^^ Thats why I like Western music too.

To Eastern music, the music dosen't change much because the life here is not that busy, they still maintain their classical instruments and the way they play is mostly Sentimental, as you said so. The music here is slower than western music (Exclude the mix and match of both musics).

So, for me, I too also choose both and I listen to many kinds of musics, thats make me not choosy...but I still liked to listen to Jpop...hahaha

Totally agree!! Nowadays most songs try to combine the essential of Eastern and Western in order to compose a great master piece. I like them both!!

I see the result so all support both genres la. I think their differences are..

  1. the instruments they used (Eastern usually oriented to the natural sources, e.g. bamboo, log, leaf... For Western, they prefer metal, string,...)
  2. the culture (one is conservative in expressing their feelings, thoughts; another is trying to break the rule and change the current situation. So it shows in the music they composed too. Music can display the condition of the composer, e.g. what they feel and what are they thinking just like poets.)

The word oriental would be best described but I think he is actually asking the main differences between the musics from west and east, or should I say western for European, American, Latin musics and Asian Musics? house88kend, correct me If I am wrong OMG!
